Visual Narration- Analytical Editing

Analytical editing is any edit that is breaking the continuity of time and space and putting them back together for an emotional impact, but by giving the viewers very well defined information they thing less about the moments in-between the cuts.

The idea was to make a short storyline, which shows analytical editing and brings a meaning through cinematographic elements.

Storyline creation: Ayushi Chatterjee.

The project was made by four members.

Visual Narration- Constructive Editing

Constructive editing is the one which builds up the scene from a series of tight shots, each shot is connected by the meaning and the context in it but not by visual continuity (cut-on action).

Cinematography Basics

An attempt by the Communication Design Department of 20 members to experiment, explore and learn the basics of cinematography.

Cinematography is one of the key technical element of visualisation in cinema and camera is the device that captures the shots using Cinematic elements such as focus, exposure, framing, depth of field and scale. Light is another key element which illuminates the scene and colour is also one of the most interesting elements in impacting the visual quality of the composition of the frame. This can actually grow beyond the mere visual effect to symbolic and

metaphorical representation to convey the content, mood, emotions with cultural and social implications.

FILM ANALYSIS

Film analysis is the process in which a film is analyzed in terms of mise-en-scène, cinematography, sound, and editing. One way of analyzing films is by the shot-by-shot analysis, though that is typically used only for small clips or scenes. Film analysis is closely connected to film theory.
